Lauryn Wilder has lived her entire life in the desert. As a lifelong native of Las Vegas, she’s met people from all over the world. She’s often wondered what draws them to the arid oasis of vice; when you grow up surrounded by neon, it tends to lose its luster. There were a million other more interesting places in her mind, places with rich histories and better skylines. It wasn’t until she began to travel herself that she began to understand and appreciate its appeal.
When she’s not planning a weekend excursion, she writes about the places to do and things to see around Las Vegas, draws, and paints. Her paintings focus on the female form, whether it’s as an old-school acrobats or sugar-skull inspired goddesses and ghouls.
Lauryn currently contributes to The Culture Trip, an online travel and culture website.
